The Retreat Bed & Breakfast

"The Retreat" is a stately home over a century old. Opened in 1987 as a mountain country inn, "The Retreat" is the perfect spot to get away from career and everyday pressures. This is where you can lounge in the sun and enjoy the warm days of a mountain summer and marvel at the spectacular fall foliage on the hills surrounding the house. Wide porches wrap around the house and five acres of old growth trees, evergreens, rhododendron, wetland, flower and vegetable gardens make "The Retreat" a lovely and "laid-back" spot to visit.

Just off the campus of Davis & Elkins (D&E) College, easy walking distance from downtown Elkins, gateway to the 840,000-acre Monongahela National Forest. Elkins was recently selected as one of the top 50 American small-towns.
