The General Lewis Inn
301 E. Washington Street
Lewisburg, WV 24901
Come relax in our rocking chairs on the long shaded veranda...step into the past and enjoy the sensation of coming home. The General Lewis Inn and Restaurant is a unique blend of the old and new, created and operated by the same family since 1928.
Location
Nestled in the broad rolling Greenbrier Valley, surrounded by lush evergreen and maple covered mountains,
Lewisburg blends a unique mixture of natural and man-made beauty. Nearby streams and rivers provide superb fishing, canoeing and whitewater rafting. Hike and bike trails beckon the outdoor lover.
Accommodations
Two bedrooms and two two-bedroom suites overlooking the garden are part of the original home. All have original mantles. Every room in the Inn is furnished with historic antiques, products of the culture and craftsmanship of early settlers.
Amenities
The eastern end of the inn, including the dining room, was a brick residence built in the early 19th century. The family spent many years gathering antiques from Greenbrier and adjoining counties to furnish the Inn. Spool and canopy beds, chests of drawers, china, glass, old prints and other memorabilia are throughout the building.
