Welcome to Parkview Bed & Breakfast located in the Park Street historical district of Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Built in 1895, Parkview is a Queen Anne Victorian home located one block from Reedsburg's beautiful downtown and across from City Park.

The home features original windows, hardware, and woodwork. The legacy of the home's second owner is the stone and shell ornaments in the yard that includes two fish ponds, a lighted windmill and lighthouse. The Hofmann family have lovingly brought the property back to its original beauty.

Location
There are many activities in the area to appeal to a variety of interests. The 400 Recreational trail is very popular for bicyclers. That trail is the beginning of more than 100 miles of trails that end north of LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The Museum of Norman Rockwell Art, Taliesin, House of the Rock, and American Players Theatre in the Spring Green area, Devils' Lake State Park and Circus World Museum in the Baraboo area, and all the attractions at Wisconsin Dells make Reedsburg a convenient place to begin your exploration of the area. Guests often comment on how attractive Reedsburg and the area is. Come and visit us soon!

Accommodations
Groeneweg Room, decorated with blue and beige, is named after the second owner of the home, Dr. and Mrs. Groeneweg. He was Reedsburg's first chiropractor and had his practice in the home from 1929-42. It has a view of City Park. It has a queen-size bed, a dresser from Tom's family, and a hardwood floor. This room shares a bath with the Ribbon Room.
Another guestroom overlooking City Park with a view toward Main Street is the Ribbon Room. Donna used twenty-five yards of 90-inch fabric in decorating this room. A ribbon design is used throughout, from the quilts and pillows on the queen size bed and daybed, to the dust ruffles, curtains, and hand stenciling. It has an antique oak bed and a dresser in this room plus a daybed for a third person. The bath is shared with the Groeneweg Room. This was one of the rooms used as a chiropractic room during Dr.Groeneweg's practice in the home.
One will find rose and brass accents in the Brass Room that has a hardwood floor. The queen-size bed has a brass headboard. Another dresser from Tom's family is in this room that has a view toward Park St. The attached private bath is the original bathroom of the home. It has a tub with a shower in it.
Siefert Room was named after the first owners of the home. This room has a four-poster, queen-size bed plus a daybed. One can see Main Street from this room. It has a maple floor and attached bath with a shower. It was this room that Dr. Groeneweg used for his chiropractic practice.

Amenities
The front parlor is for guests where they can enjoy the player piano, old record player, a variety of parlor games, or converse with other guests or your hosts. If you want a solitude place, there is the suitor's window where you can read a book while siting in the old wicker rocker. Ask your hosts to tell you why it is called a "Suitor's Window". The curved front porch is a great place to relax and drink a glass of lemonade on a summer day.

Meals
Breakfast at Parkview is one of the delights of guests' stays. Donna, a home economist, is always searching for new and interesting recipes to use in the breakfast menus. The menus change with the seasons and are tailored to guests. In the spring, menus may include rhubarb from the garden, Strawberry French Toast, or Morel mushrooms if Tom has been successful finding them! Summer menus may include locally grown blueberries, raspberries, and cherries. In the fall and winter, cranberries, pumpkin, and apples are commonly used. Breakfast includes juice, seasonal fruit, a main egg dish or pancakes, waffles, or French toast, and meat. Donna tries to prepare foods one wouldn't usually prepare for one's self.
