Walkabout Creek Lodge

Experience the authenticity of a true mountain lodge, and retreat to our secluded haven. Nestled on 5 wooded acres beside a flowing creek, WalkAbout Creek Lodge is a historic gem. It was built in 1940 out of hewn logs and fieldstone, and it remains the oldest existing ski lodge in Stowe! Located only three miles from Mt. Mansfield, it is the perfect spot to unwind after a day on the slopes, and cross-country skiers can enter miles of trails from our own back yard

Location
The WalkAbout Creek Lodge is located on Edson Hill Road, 3 miles up Route 108 (Mountain Road), midway between charming and quaint Stowe Village and Stowe Mountain Resort Ski Area, which provides not only skiing and snow boarding, but also alpine slide, in-line skating park, gondola rides, mountain biking, mountain top dining and endless hiking trails. The Stowe Country Club is located 2 miles away which provides 18 holes of spectacular golf. The 6 mile bike and recreation path is just a short distance from the lodge, which provides a wonderful experience, whether you are walking, roller blading, biking, jogging or cross country skiing.

Accommodations
16 rustic rooms, with private baths. Deluxe rooms with whirpool bath. 2 family suites for 4 people - 2 rooms share one bath, bunk beds. 3 bedroom townhouse sleeps 6 people.

Meals
In the morning you can look forward to a real hearty breakfast! After a full day in the fresh Green Mountain air, join us in The Billabong Pub, a cozy spot with micro-brewed draft, bottled beers, Australian wine, and pool table. The lodge and grounds are also available for private parties--rehearsal dinners, weddings, receptions and family reunions--serving everything from casual fare to complete gourmet dinners.

Amenities
Hiking, biking, fly fishing and other tours arranged. Expansive living areas offer plenty of room to kick back and savor the afternoon sun or settle down in front of a big stone fireplace. Or, enjoy year-round outdoor hot tub and have drinks in the cozy fieldstone pub. In warmer seasons, manicured lawns and flowers surround our swimming pool and hot tub, creating the perfect place to wander, read, or rock in the hammock.
