Your hostess, Susan O'Kelly Lang, would like you to experience Irish-style warmth and charm in her historic hilltop Edwardian mansion, an "Emerald Isle" for travelers that is reminiscent of turn of the century hospitality. Prepare to be pampered by a caring innkeeper who has taken every detail into account to make your stay as relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Curl up with a good book in a quiet spot, or relax and mingle with fellow guests in the Irish Pub.

Killahevlin is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register and is situated on a Civil War encampment site where two of Mosby's Rangers were hanged. The inn has been professionally restored and exquisitely designed - complete with interesting antiques, working fireplaces, private bathrooms (most with whirlpool tubs) and fluffy towels, comfy queen size beds (some are four poster), and wonderful mountain views. The Irish influence can be spotted throughout the house with stained glass transom windows, reproduction wallpaper from 19th century Ireland and, of course, the private Irish Pub for guests offering complimentry Irish draft beer on tap, wine, soft drinks and snacks.

Location
The mansion is situated so that from the rooms, verandah, porches, gazebos and grounds there are wonderful outlooks to the property's magnificent tree line with the Blue Ridge Mountains and the George Washington National Forest as a distant backdrop.

Accommodations
The Green Room. Decorated with soft Irish green ribbon wall paper, this corner room feels bright and comfortable. Its windows face north and east providing for sunrise views above the Blue Ridge Mountains. The bathroom's sea-foam green whirlpool tub inspired the room's name. Other delightful features include the handpainted headboard and fireplace mantel, the bathroom's unique window and ceramic tile treatment, and an antique oval pedestal sink-original to the house.
The White Room. Named for the Victorian bathroom's white and gold fixtures and antique claw-footed tub and sink, this room specializes in elegance. An antique 4-poster cast iron and brass bed faces the fireplace. Step out onto a second floor, fully restored, private enclosed porch and savor the mountain view.
The Raspberry Room. A favorite with the honeymooners, this room is adorned with stunning flower and lovebird motif wallpaper, an imposing antique high 4-poster bed and an elegant antique French armoire. A separate seating area around the fireplace gives added comfort and dimension to this corner room which faces south and east. The bathroom's unique tri-cornered raspberry-colored double whirlpool tub and the restored antique pedestal sink have European hand-painted porcelain fixtures.
The Blue Room. Surrounded with its tranquil cream and blue wallpaper and antique wardrobe, a sense of calm enfolds the room. French doors provide access to a private enclosed porch facing the mountains. An elegant 4-poster bed faces the fireplace. An original fused glass window overlooks the exceptionally large midnight blue double whirlpool. The tile and wallpaper treatments compliment the antique marble-topped dressing table.

Unhurried mornings begin with a sumptuous breakfast of freshly ground and brewed Kona coffee and gourmet teas, freshly squeezed juices, an abundance of fresh fruit and specialty cereals, and Susan's homemade muffins or breads. Your second set course might be Killahevlin's famous Belgian waffles with warm maple syrup and country sausage or fabulous french toast and crispy bacon or perhaps a scrumptous omelette made to order. You won't need lunch!
