Built in 1890 as the summer home of a Wealthy bachelor and lumber man, Howard Conkling. Conkling spared no expense for his home. 12' beamed ceilings, all chestnut wainscoting and fabulous keyhole staircase enhance the spacious great room, now used as the guest sitting area . TV, chess, Scrabble, games and books are available. Sit by the fire, or on the wrap around porch, and don't forget to look at Linda's turtle collection. Innkeepers - Gene and Linda Merlino purchased the home in 1984. From New Jersey,Gene was in the textile engraving business and Linda was a textile artist. They spent their Honeymoon and 1st year of marriage getting their home ready to open as a Bed & Breakfast Inn. Now in the Inns' 14th year, the Inn has had many changes and accolades over the years.
