Hacienda Nicholas

Walking into Hacienda Nicholas is like stepping back into time. The old
adobe home in the heart Santa Fe features a central "great room" with 20 foot ceilings, thick wooden vigas, softly colored hand-troweled plaster walls and a fireplace large enough to cook in. The historic home is built around a gem of a garden courtyard. Filled with roses, wisteria, iris, daisies, pansies and geraniums, it provides an ideal setting for leisurely breakfasts or afternoon tea. In warmer weather birds sing in the trees as sunlight filters through the leaves. The outdoor kiva fireplace takes the chill out of the air on cooler days.

Located on a quiet street on Santa Fe's east side, Hacienda Nicolas is just blocks away from the historic plaza and the galleries of Canyon
Road. During your stay our knowledgeable staff can help you plan the day's activities, from roaming the many galleries, museums and shops to
selecting a restaurant to suit your taste.

Accommodations

The decor throughout the house is an elegant blend of Southwest meets Provence. The adobe walls are painted in soft shades of sunlight. Lace curtains adorn the windows, lovely Gustave Bauman prints grace the walls, and rustic Mexican furnishings inhabit every room. The seven bedrooms all feature wrought iron or carved wood four-poster beds, private baths decorated with unique and charming Mexican tiles,
telephones, cable TV and air conditioning. In every room down and feather comforters keep you cozy at night, and we also provide soft cotton robes for you to lounge in. Three of the rooms are especially romantic with king size beds, fireplaces, and doorways onto the courtyard.

Amenities
We can point you to places of historic interest among the local Indian pueblos and cliff dwellings, or help you experience New Mexico's unparalleled natural beauty with tips on hiking, biking and skiing in the surrounding mountains or rafting the Rio Grande. We also offer you guest privileges at the full-service El Gancho Health Club.

For relaxing indoors, a crackling fire warms the inviting great room. Snuggle to the overstuffed couches in front of the fire or sit at one of the large wooden common tables to savor delectable homemade cookies, brownies, pies and cakes accompanied by coffee, cocoa, cider and hot teas.

Meals
In the mornings take your breakfast here or outdoors, selecting from such hot goodies as blueberry pancakes, quiche, SW frittatas and breakfast burritos. Accompany your it entree with scrumptious homemade muffins, incredibly moist homemade granola and whole grain breads, yogurt, cheeses and fresh fruit.

Children
Children over six are welcome in the main houses. Children of any age are welcome to stay in our cottages.
