The "Candlelight Inn" is a beautifully restored Bed & Breakfast built at the turn of the century by Leaming Rice. This Queen Anne, Victorian style structure served as the family home for many years and remained in the Rice family until it was purchased by the past Innkeepers, Diane and Paul, in 1985. The new innkeepers, Bill and Nancy, will keep the Inn as charming as in the past and maintain its great traditions. Today, the "Candlelight Inn" can be enjoyed by couples seeking a romantic getaway.

Location
Central Avenue offers the perfect setting for the "Candlelight Inn." With its wide borders and beautifully landscaped islands, it lends itself well to our quiet residential section of North Wildwood. Our spacious porch provides just the right spot for you to take in the view and be surrounded by cool seashore breezes. Take a deep breath and the hint of salt air is yours for as long as you care to stay.

Time spent at the "Candlelight Inn" is always remembered as special. It is our small piece of the New Jersey Coast that we would like to share with you and your special someone.

The boardwalk, beach, fine restaurants, tennis courts, and shopping are all within a few minutes walk of the "Candlelight Inn." The beaches are wide and the sand is soft to the touch. For sunning, tanning, surfing or swimming the Wildwood beaches have no equal. No beach tags are required. Fall, winter, and early spring are
special times that we refer to as the "Quiet Season". People are continuing to find that the early fall is really the best time to come to the Jersey shore. The pace is slower, the temperatures not as hot, but the water is still in the 70s. Winter and early spring are truly romantic times! A time to enjoy the warmth of the glowing fireplace on a chilly night, or a brisk walk down Central Avenue with a quick return to a cup of heated toddy or mulled cider. For the very warm-blooded, theres nothing like a winter walk on the beach to quicken the pace or just some quiet time wrapped warmly and enjoying the afternoon sun on our veranda.

Accommodations
All guests rooms in the main house have private baths, one with a whirlpool tub. Both rooms in the remodeled Carriage House have their own fireplaces and private, double Jacuzzi. Most rooms have ceiling fans, and all are air-conditioned, luxuries not enjoyed during olden days.

Amenities
Our wraparound veranda makes the perfect place to shade the noonday sun and savor a short respite. Sit back and unwind in comfortable wicker furniture, cozy up in an old fashioned porch swing or snooze in our double Pawleys Island hammock. Retreat to the outdoor sundeck if you wish, it features a gas grill, patio furniture, and a large hot tub. And, as a romantic interlude, we suggest you try the hot tub under a moonlit sky.

Meals
Breakfast is an occasion at the "Candlelight Inn." It is served in the main dinning room amid a variety of antiquity that will delight even the most ardent collectors. You will find a built in oak breakfront, chestnut pocket doors, a beautiful 19th century dining room suite including a 105 year old walnut table and many fine collectibles.

The breakfast fare is deliciously prepared by your Innkeepers and served to guests, piping hot, on antique dishes and serving pieces. Taste buds come alive as you sample fresh fruits, juices, cereals, egg dishes, waffles, pancakes, French toast, homemade breads, jams, and freshly brewed coffee and tea. The Sunday morning tradition of Candlelight Eggs Benedict is now joined with the option of waffles covered with fresh fruit of the season. A breakfast highlight is the company and conversation you will enjoy with our other guests, truly a delightful way to start your day.
