A newly restored 1649 Mansion and Carriage house, is situated on a hill overlooking her formal gardens, the Oyster River, and the Old Mill Falls.
Location
Strategically located in the southern Seacoast Region, eight minutes from Portsmouth’s Strawbery Banke Museum, the John Paul Jones Home, and several historic mansions on tour, the inn provides a perfect base for taking short day trips to the Canterbury Shaker Village, antique, boutique, and outlet shopping, and the fishing villages along the rugged seacoast of Maine.
Accommodations
All of elegantly appointed rooms are located in the 1649 Mansion or in the 1795 Carriage House, and 17 of the 23 rooms have fireplaces. Each room boasts it's own personality with fine Georgian mahogany furnishings, King and Queen four poster beds dressed in Edwardian drapes, rich tapestries, antique artwork, polished wood floors warmed by oriental rugs and overstuffed lounge chairs and sofas. Added comforts include full private baths, two person showers, oversize tubs, and Jacuzzis.

One hour north of Boston, 40 minutes from Manchester International Airport and within steps of the University of New Hampshire, the historic 23 room inn offers unique lodging, fine Colonial cuisine, a cozy old Tavern, outdoor dining, banquet and meeting facilities.

Rate inclusive of a full hearty breakfast served at table in Maples, afternoon tea and turn-down service.
The original homestead dining room and winter kitchen provide an authentic Colonial setting for gourmet dining. Four fireplaces and Georgian décor recreate the warmth and charm of a fine Revolutionary era residence, with American cuisine and friendly, upscale service. With it’s open hearth summer kitchen fireplace, granite walls, and hand hewn beams, the Tavern provides a cozy spot for hearty traditional pub fare. Luncheon and dinner is served with New England style.
