Volden Farm Bed & Breakfast

Volden Farm--an unexpected old world atmosphere on the wide prairie of eastern North Dakota. After living in many places, the owners settled here, bringing with them treasures, they have collected things Russian and Norwegian which reflect their heritage and interests and which give character and comfort to their home. They love to meet people, read, garden, sing, talk, raise animals, and plant trees.



Location
Located on the wide prairie of eastern North Dakota, Volden Farm has 300 acres of fields and woods, hills and coulees, including a large section of virgin prairie with grasses, plants and natural springs, all of which invite inspection and enjoyment and provide inspiration.

Accommodations
Two double rooms with shared bath in the main house; 1 kingsize bed and 2 twins in detached guest house (Law Office). Furnishings in the main house guest rooms are family heirloom quilts and linens and interesting antique pieces that you will like. They also supply good light and reading material. The shared bathroom looks over the pasture hills and orchard. The Law Office is a small separate house a short walking distance from the main house. Honeymooners, writers, and persons who desire an added degree of privacy or who can't negotiate stairs enjoy using this space. It has a bath with shower and limited kitchen facilities. And a view!

Amenities
Snowshoeing, bird watching, berry-picking, cross-country skiing, fishing in the Sheyenne, canoeing on the Sheyenne, golfing in Cooperstown, and biking.

Meals
A Scandinavian Breakfast from the farm and garden is served. Swedish Pancakes or Danish Aebleskiver with Chokeberry-Raspberry syrup are the featured entrees. Garden food in season, Norwegian Cheeses and Flatbread, freshly squeezed fruit juice, freshly ground coffee, and herbal or Earl Grey tea round out your meal.
