Want a great family ranch vacation? How about a weekend getaway for two? Maybe you'd like to try your hand at some cowboy skills. Whether you're wanting some great horseback riding or just relaxing on the front porch of your cabin, Dahkotah Lodge offers packages to fit your wishes!

Location
Southwest North Dakota. Our family has been ranching and raising cattle in these rugged Badlands for five generations. We have it all, from red scoria topped ridges to "gumbo knobs", along with buttes and high plateaus from which you can see for miles. You'll want to bottle the fresh cedar and sage scented air to take home with you! Our clear blue skies reflected in the Little Missouri River are unrivaled anywhere. The quiet is so quiet, you just might be able to hear yourself think!

Accommodations
Our cabins are rustic one room sleeping cabins. They include electricity, antique wood stoves for heat, carpeting, bedding (including hand stitched quilts to snuggle under!), and each cabin is assigned a private bathroom with shower in a seperate building. Don't worry about being interrupted by a ringing phone or blaring T.V., 'cause there aren't any! The Cowboy is our smallest, with two double beds. Next is the Bighorn, with one double bed and three singles, including one in the loft. Then it's the Medora with two double beds and two singles in the loft. The largest cabin is the Chateau, with six double beds and four singles. The Chateau has two lofts and has two sets of curtains to close to make seperate sleeping areas. Each cabin is intended for a single family or group. We generally limit the number of guests to 10 to 12 people, but can accommodate larger groups such as family reunions, scouts, retreats, etc.

Amenities
Our horses are well trained and gentle, but willing to do what you want to do. We don't have to ride in a line here, there's plenty of room to spread out and roam! During our new American Ranch Holiday, you'll be invited to help with various ranch activities, like rounding up strays, branding, checking fence lines, packing salt, and moving cattle to new pastures. Try your hand at these skills, or just watch, it's up to you! If you want to try the cowboy life, but don't want to sleep in a bedroll on the ground (though we do that sometimes, too!), give us a holler and we'll have your horse saddled when you get here!
