Location
On Historic Roanoke Island. Enjoy the charming 3 mile bike trail with shaded picnic stops that runs from the Elizabethan Inn to the island's north shore. Nestled together at the north end of Roanoke Island, just two miles from the Elizabethan Inn, are the serenely beautiful Elizabethan Gardens, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site and Waterside Theatre, home of the longest running outdoor drama in America, The Lost Colony. Nearby, on Airport Road, is the North Carolina Aquarium which is currently undergoing a major expansion and is scheduled to reopen in the summer of 2000. Five minutes east of the Inn you�ll find kayak rentals and a public boat ramp, as well as departures for dolphin watches, sailboat cruises and kayak ecotours � all on the Manteo waterfront. Nearby is the historic George Washington Creef Boathouse, home of the NC Maritime Museum on Roanoke Island.
