Unique new North Country inn, designed to provide comfortable accommodations for those who love Northern Minnesota and appreciate a good night's rest. Open year-round, guests enjoy numerous seasonal outdoor activities as well as the relaxed ambience of this North Woods getaway. The 27 acres of land upon which Dream Catcher resides was purchased in the fall of 1991. The Duluth architectural firm designed the inn. It opened for business at Christmastime in 1992. Dream Catcher is three-quarters of a mile from the shoreline of Lake Superior and 750 feet above it. All the rooms overlook panoramic views of the surrounding forest and the expanse of lake.

Location
Nestled in the woods of Northeastern Minnesota, high above Lake Superior's rugged North Shore. The Superior Hiking Trail is just north of Dream Catcher. Nearby, Cascade River State Park maintains many hiking and cross-country ski trails along the beautiful Cascade River. The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness provides day canoe trip routes unlike anywhere else in the world. Landscaping combines restoration of natural habitat and more formal garden plants.

Accommodations
3 rooms with private bath. The guest rooms are named after favorite lakes in the canoe country.

Amenities
The main floor offers a comfortable great room with fireplace, dining area, and three-season porch. Although modern construction, the interior resembles a northwoods lodge. Native wood paneling grace the walls, as does the work of local artists. Furnishings are a pleasant blend of antique and new items. A large selection of books and magazines are available for reading relaxation. Or, enjoy playing cards and games next to a crackling fire. The affectionate pet-in-residence, "Kitty", is warm and friendly and often present in this room. The hosts are former Gunflint Trail resort and canoe outfitter owners.

Meals
Dine with a view of the lake, the woods, and the wildlife. Dream Catcher's hearty Northwood's style breakfasts provide energy for the day's activities. German Apple Pancake, Scones, and English Muffin Souffle' are just a few of the selections served. Coffee is ground fresh each morning and served piping hot and strong. Snacks and hot beverages are served in the late afternoon and evening. Trail lunches are available upon request.
