Location
Inland Maine, Moosehead Lake and this magnificent retreat are the outdoorperson's heaven, perfect honeymoon spot, OR the location to do absolutely nothing and be pampered doing it!! The views from the Lodge are spectacular.
Accommodations
In addition to five luxurious guestrooms with hand-carved four-poster beds, gas fireplaces, TV/VCRS, and jacuzzis for two, we offer three wonderful Retreat Suites. These luxurious, 15' X 35' suites also have fireplaces and TV/VCRS, of course, and the jacuzzis are set into a mirrored corner of each of the bathrooms, which are illuminated by chandeliers. One of the suites, the Katahdin Suite, even has a second fireplace in the bathroom. The suites' living rooms have spectacular lake views through tall sliding glass doors that open onto two-tiered, landscaped patios. The bedrooms, located two steps up from the living rooms, are extremely special. The Katahdin Suite has a vaulted ceiling with a twig-and-antler-canopied bed. The other two, the Allagash Suite and the Baxter Suite, have unique swaying beds. That's right- swaying. Hung from the ceiling, these custom-crafted beds sway lengthwise, and only very gently - just the right amount to rock you to sleep. It's like spending the night in the world's most comfortable hammock.
Meals
An incredible breakfast is served by the Lodge between the hours of 8 A.M. and 9 A.M. Dinner, prix-fixe, is offered strictly to houseguests. A minimum of a 3 course meal is always served, but the dinner generally consists of at least four courses. For any dinner, the guest always has a choice of at least three entrees.

The Moosehead Region is a natural wonderland, offering an abundance of activities. Hosts take a personal interest in helping guests to plan daily activities by suggesting trails to hike, reserving a guide to take guests on a "Moose Safari", recommending dinner plans.
