The house with its beautiful wrap-around porch, and the grounds with paved terraces, the various gardens, and the sweeping lawns testify to a love of style and beauty. Pleasant common rooms include the living room and the library.There is an excellent piano which guests are encouraged to use. Fireplaces are used on every cool afternoon, from Spring through Fall.

Location
Mira Monte is a five-minute walk to Bar Harbor's finest shops and restaurants, and to the waterfront and is a five minute drive to Acadia National Park, a 33,000 acre wonderland of mountains, seashore, lakes, meadow and forest. The Park offers a full daily schedule of Ranger-guided activities from early June to early October.
If you are driving from northern New Hampshire to Bar Harbor, there is a good, little-known route which is shorter by 1.5 hours driving-time than Rte. 2 in Maine.

Accommodations
All the 13 rooms have private baths, remote control cable T.V., A/C, and beds with firm mattresses. These blend with antiques and period furnishings, wallpaper, and lace curtains to return you to the magic of yesteryear without sacrificing the comfort, cleanliness, and convenience of today. An adjacent building has two luxury suites and one two bedroom, two bath suite.
