Welcome to the Robert Morris Inn, one of the most relaxed destinations on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We have waterfront rooms with private porches in our Sandaway Lodge, and historic rooms at the Main Inn. Owned and operated for over thirty years by the Gibson Family, the Inn's hallmarks are simple comfort, quiet hospitality and delicious food, especially our crab cakes.

Location

The Robert Morris Inn, dating back to 1710 is one of the oldest historic inns in the United States. The Main Inn and Lodge are situated next to the Tred Avon River (off the Chesapeake Bay) in the colonial village of Oxford, Maryland. We are only 6 miles from St. Michaels, 10 miles from Easton and Cambridge, and 20 miles from Tilghman Island.

Rooms

The Main Inn crowns the north end of Morris Street. Additional accommodations are offered at the Inn's Sandaway Lodge located one-half block away, on two acres of waterfront property complete with private beach. Guests may choose to stay in one of the quaint Inn rooms or in the Sandaway, where many rooms have private porches overlooking the water . All guest rooms have private baths and are decorated with comfortable country furnishings.

For the ultimate Chesapeake experience ask for Sandaway Suite. Your first floor bedroom with a canopy king bed, soaking tub for two, and side porch is located at Sandaway Lodge. Your separate sitting room is located on the beach with views of the river in 3 directions. Great sunsets!

This is one of our four River Rooms located in a separate building on the Sandaway Property. This quiet and spacious bedroom has an exceptionally large bathroom complete with an original claw foot tub and a built in shower. All the River Rooms have a king size bed, a reading area in front of expansive windows and private porches. You have your own designated parking spot, so you only walk two steps to your entrance--a great setup! We consider the River Rooms and Sandaway Suite our nicest accommodations.

Each night you enjoy dinner with us we take $20 off of your room rate. Room rates also reduced mid-week.
