Leaving the posh confines of St. Michaels, cross the drawbridge to Tilghman Island and look for the country store on the left. Turn down Gibsontown Road, and you’ll see a shy sign on the right that identifies the Chesapeake Wood Duck Inn. You have arrived in another world, with the slow, serene lifestyle enjoyed by the residents of this remote Eastern Shore fishing village, located in the Chesapeake Bay.

Inside the charming Victorian-style inn, expect a warm welcome from hosts Kimberly and Jeffrey, who have restored the 1890 structure to an intimate hostelry sitting on a beautifully landscaped property with six guest rooms and a small cottage overlooking scenic Dogwood Harbor. Their modest but thoughtfully decorated Inn featuring the original art by Maureen Bannon has attracted accolades from afar, ranging from the New York Times, the Washington Post, Good Morning America to AAA and Mobil.

Tilghman Island's quiet demeanor notwithstanding, activities abound. Sailing at sunset or cruising through pristine waterscapes aboard a historic skipjack is a singular Chesapeake Bay experience. Kayaking, fishing and bird watching are enjoyable alone or in small groups. Safe roads throughout the area's flat terrain makes for effortless running or cycling. Nearby historic St. Michaels offers a variety of boutiques, restaurants and is home to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.

We at Tilghman Island's Chesapeake Wood Duck Inn would like to invite you to stay and experience one of life's quiet treasures; a working harbor and the succulent joy of eating Jeffrey’s culinary delights. The passion for food that drives us will continue beyond our first eight years. We take great pride in our outstanding reputation earned for fine dining. From the homemade baked breads, elegant desserts and cheeses, to the three-course gourmet breakfast offered daily and finally, to our optional four course dinner offered on Saturday evenings.

Breakfast is enjoyed and complementary to all Inn guests, where as Dinner on Saturday is only available for 8-10 Inn Guests by reservation only. These dinners have become very popular amongst all guests, so please reserve early to avoid disappointment.

Guests are often pleasantly surprised by the level of dinning offered in this picturesque waterman's village on Maryland’s eastern shore. The Inn's character and cozy dining experience add to this unique setting with a long history; making it the perfect choice for vacations, honeymoons, anniversaries, gifts, and romantic weekend getaways.
