The Inn at Stockbridge
Rt 7, Box 618
Stockbridge, MA 01262
A great inn is a captivating combination of wonderful guests, a gracious staff, magical surroundings, delicious foods, and luxurious rooms.
The Inn is a turn of the century Georgian style mansion built in 1906. It was lovingly restored to a bed & breakfast in 1982.
The Inn is filled with antiques and remains elegant and comfortable. Whether chatting over complimentary cheese and wine or splashing in the pool, the atmosphere of being among friends predominates.
Location
Set back far from the road on twelve secluded acres just one mile from downtown Stockbridge is the white pillared Inn. The Berkshires are a four-season destination. During the summer months, it is home to the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood, as well as Jacob's Pillow and the Berkshire and Williamstown Theater Festivals. In the fall, enjoy the wonderful colors of the changing seasons. The winter months offer excellent downhill and cross-country skiing facilities, and in the spring, stroll the Norman Rockwell Museum and the Clark Art Institute. Year-round, the Berkshires offer a full range of excellent restaurants, antiquing, shopping, and historic attractions.
Accommodations
All rooms are individually appointed with period antiques, private baths, and telephones. The main house has eight traditional guest rooms, with old-world charm and period antiques. Most have king-size beds with down comforters and hand-embroidered duvet covers. All rooms have complimentary Inn room sherry.
In June 1997, Alice and Len built four new junior suites in a cottage house on the spacious grounds behind the mansion. The architecture of the mansion was duplicated in the cottage house with its four white columns and grand porch, however, the magic lies inside these theme rooms. St. Andrews, Kashmir, Provence, and Out of Africa have gas fireplaces, king-size canopy beds with pillow top mattresses, cathedral ceilings, TV-VCR combinations, and many wonderful Inn room amenities. In addition, Kashmir and St. Andrews each feature 6-foot whirlpool bathtubs with separate showers.
4 new deluxe suites available in our newest building, the barn. All suites are over 400 square feet and feature a gas fireplace, large double whirlpool, private decks facing the woods, king size beds and much more.
Meals
A full candlelight breakfast is served in the formal dining room and includes fresh fruits and juices, a hot entree such as lemon cottage cheese pancakes, or Belgium waffles with strawberries and cream and a surprise sweet, prepared each morning at the whim of chef Len. Afternoon wine and cheese is in the parlor and includes wine, juice or hot apple cider, as well as locally prepared chevre and other cheeses, and a locally made flatbread known as lavash.
