The Cornerstone Inn

The Cornerstone Inn is a Victorian style bed and breakfast
hotel with a quiet, inviting, homey atmosphere throughout. The Inn is located in beautiful, rustic Nashville, Brown County, Indiana. In 1856, Lewis Cass Tilton, his wife, Elizbeth Lacey Tilton, their children, an ox, and a cow trekked by covered wagon from Coshocton County, Ohio to settle 40 acres of virgin Brown County land. Their great-great grandson Tom Tilton and his wife Pam have named each of their 16 guest rooms after one of their Brown County ancestors. Each room has been lovingly filled with antiques appropriate to the period in which they lived and diligently decorated with their unique personalities in mind.

The Inn is located on the site of Tom's family home, purchased by his parents in 1939. In that home, Tom opened the Indiana Reptile Institute in 1976. By 1980 an extensive wing was added to the museum and the name changed to the Reptile Kingdom Serpentarium. After 17 years of relative success, Tom and Pam were ready for a major change. In February, 1993, the entire structure was demolished and the beautiful Cornerstone Inn Building was erected and opened October 1,
1993.
