The Commandant's Home Bed & Breakfast

Proprietors Chris and Beth Shelton and Innkeepers Gene and Carolyn Brown welcome you to the majestic house "on the hill." The Commandant's Home Bed & Breakfast, located on the scenic 130-acre grounds of the Indiana Veterans' Home is the beautifully restored and authentically furnished former residence of the home's leaders.

Location
The Commandant's Home Bed and Breakfast is only a five-minute drive to Purdue University, the Tippecanoe Battlefield, or Lafayette.

Accommodations
The Home has six bedrooms, each named after a noted commandant --- Comm. Haggard served in the Civil War; Comm. Seybert was a graduate of Purdue University; Comm. Loudon was from Bloomington; Comm. Gilpin earned a Silver Star in World War I; Comm. Schmitz, a Lafayette native, also served in the Great War; and Comm. Arnold fought in World War II. Comm. Gilpin's room has a king-sized bed; the other rooms have queen-sized beds. Each room has a private bathroom.

Enjoy the business-friendly atmosphere of the second-floor sitting area with antique desks and high-tech phone systems with full fax/modem access.
The Commandant's Home Bed & Breakfast is the perfect setting for your wedding and all the special events surrounding it. Whether it is an intimate wedding inside the Home or a large wedding on the scenic grounds, the Commandant's Home offers the romantic backdrop for your fondest memories. Your families' guests will also appreciate the added convenience and comfort of lodging in the Home for the weekend. The Commandant's Home is also available for weddings. No alcohol permitted at special events.

Meals
Formal full breakfast in the Laura E. Ingersoll Dining Room is served at posted times, which may accommodate guests' schedules. Coffee and tea are available upon request.
