Povey Pensione

Povey Pensione is a traditional Bed & Breakfast located in Hailey just 13 miles South of the world famous Sun Valley Ski resort, yet only a five minute drive from the local airport with daily connecting flights from Boise or Salt Lake City. The Povey Pensione is named after John Povey, a carpenter from Liverpool, England, who built this home around 1890 when he and his wife Elizabeth settled in the historic mining town of Hailey. In the early 1900's John opened a lumber dealership next to their home, from which he sold building materials for many of the mines and buildings constructed in Hailey.

Location
Povey Pensione is conveniently located in the center of Hailey, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Hailey is becoming known for excellent dining and nightly entertainment. Across the street from the city park and only one block from the Big Wood River, many activities are just outside this B & B's door. A bike path is only four blocks away which is excellent for biking, walking, or rollerblading all the way to Ketchum/Sun Valley (13 Miles). In warmer weather a great mountain bike trip can be enjoyed at Bald Mountain where you can take the ski lift up the mountain and bike down. Only minutes away there are lakes and rivers for boating and fishing as well as famous Silver Creek Preserve for fly fishing. During the summer there are many outdoor concerts sponsored by Sun Valley Center for Art & Humanities or Sun Valley Company such as the Sun Valley Jazz Festival, a five day event in October. There are Arts & Crafts Shows and Antique Shows throughout the summer in both Hailey and Ketchum/Sun Valley. And of course lots of golf, tennis, hiking trails all within a few minutes to (at most) a one hour scenic drive. During the winter, cross country ski trails are set on the bike path all the way to Ketchum from Hailey. Also winter activities, the Povey Pension is located only 11 miles from world famous Bald Mountain (Sun Valley Ski Resort).

The four spacious bedrooms and two full shared baths are each carefully decorated. Your hosts offer their home as a welcoming and cozy special place, insulated from the intrusion of the outside world. They hope you'll find peace here, and a good night's rest.

Meals
A full breakfast is served from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the dining room. Special arrangements can be made to accommodate earlier needs.

Amenities
In restoring this 100-year old residence, your hosts, Sam and Terrie, have taken time to maintain its original character and authentic craftsmanship. The pastel wall coverings and antique furnishings throughout the house creates a feeling of comfort. A lovely parlor and dining room is available for relaxing.
