Welcome to Inn the Hunt Sportsman's Lodge and retreat. The perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This secluded country setting is nestled among a 500 acre preserve of public game and waterfowl hunting, hiking, cross-country skiing, bird watching and horseback riding. The Inn is perfect for romantic getaways, corporate meetings, group retreats, family gatherings, hunting trips, or one of our many special packages.

Location
We are located 4 miles east of Kanawha, Iowa, in SW Hancock county, approximately 50 miles from Clear Lake and Mason City. If you're looking for a home away from home during your next trip, then this is the Inn for you. Our lakeside setting and the surrounding woods lend to a cozy, country atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy life.

Accommodations
We are open year round and have 5 bedrooms, all with private baths. This newly renovated lodge offers something for everyone. For corporate travel, our sitting area provides the perfect spot to have small meetings in front of our cozy woodstove. For families, we offer a place to gather with family and enjoy each other's company without the worry of who is going to cook and do the cleanup. We can accommodate groups of up to 30.

Amenities
For couples, we offer the perfect place for a romantic escape. And for the outdoorsman , you couldn't ask for a better location with acres and acres of public and private hunting preserves like North Iowa's Pheasant Haven, located just two miles away, at your fingertips. As for other recreation, you could take a walk along our quiet lakeside road, sit on our deck and enjoy the deer grazing in the fields, have a barbeque, workout in our exercise room, enjoy a home-cooked breakfast, choose a game from our selection of house games or a book from our library. Nearby , you can golf, swim, hunt for antiques, go fishing, or boating. Seasonal events include county fairs, auto races, autumn festivals, and Christmas activities.

Full country breakfast is included in the room rate for all our guests and can be served by the fire on chilly mornings or on our deck on warmer mornings.
