We welcome you to our quiet, relaxing home. Cedar House is located in South Kona, in the town of Captain Cook, HI. Explore the old towns of Kealakekua, Kainaliu and Honalo, all located nearby. We are close to local shops, and beaches are a short drive away. Enjoy expansive ocean views, hearty buffet breakfast on our Lanai and simple, tropical country living. Bananas, papayas, and pineapples all grow here. Kealakekua Bay is just a short drive away - hike there, swim with dolphins or kayak to Captain Cook monument. Couples and families are welcome. English and German are spoken.

Location
South Kona is "Coffee Country". The town of Captain Cook, in particular, is known for the excellent coffee it produces, and the great views of Kealakekua Bay. Our town is a small community of local Hawaiians, Japanese and others with small to medium farms, growing coffee, macadamia nuts and various tropical fruits. Kealakekua Bay is perfect for snorkeling and kayaking and there is a great hiking trail to Captain Cook monument. South Kona has many local shops, great restaurants, gift stores and real-live theater. Go golfing or deep-sea fishing nearby. Visit any of many historical sites, macadamia nut factories or working coffee plantations. An active volcano is located just 1-1/2 hrs. away, as well as Mauna Kea, where you can ski in season or gaze at the stars.
