Center Court

We are located in the heart of historic Old Town, 1/2 block from Duval. Originally built in the 1880's, Center Court was beautifully restored in 1994 with the addition of exceptional modern comforts. We offer an outstanding assortment of quality rooms, suites, cottages, private homes, condominiums and villas. Many include private jacuzzis, heated pools or a combination of private pool and jacuzzi. Also on site are two heated pools, one for families and one for adults only. We also include full concierge service as well as complimentary happy hour and breakfast for our Inn rooms and some suites.


Our Unique History
The original Fantasy Fest was first held here as a large party for the locals...several pick-up trucks filled with ice and beer parked in the front yard while local bands entertained the very large group of locals. The next year, according to legend, Captain Tony held the party. Eventually it wound up on Duval Street where the partiers were sprayed by hoses, courtesy of the Key West Fire Department. Eventually the locals party was legitimized and has now become one of Key West's premier events.

Prior to that, 916 Center Street was the family home for generations of a well known Key West family, later becoming a barber shop and eventually falling into disrepair. Naomi Van Steelandt bought it in 1993 and won the prestigous Key West Historical Architectural Committee "Award of Excellence" for the superior architectural detailing and quality of renovation.

Continually operated since December, 1993, Center Court has been awarded AAA 3 Diamond designation, Mobil 3 Star designation, has been featured in Fodors, Key West Citizen, Town and Country, Toronto Sun and many more books and magazines, too numerous to recount.

Center Court-Historic Inn & Cottages is located between Duval and Simonton Streets, just off U.S. 1 (Truman Ave.) on Center Street, a quiet lane that is only two short blocks. Centrally located in Historic Old Town Key West, our units are just steps from each other and from all the excitement and attractions of world famous Duval Street. You can have all of the fun Key West has to offer and know that you will be coming home to clean and quiet comfort. The Inn rooms, Romantic Retreat, Honeymoon Hideaway, Sunset Suite, and The Family House are delightfully arranged for maximum privacy in the gardens around the heated pool, jacuzzi, private European-style sun deck and fish/lily pond. The tropical gardens includes exotic varieties of Caribbean trees and foliage with palms, frangipani, Barbados cherry, gumbo limbo, key lime trees and fragrant flowering plants.

For our Inn rooms, Honeymoon Hideaway, Romantic Retreat, Deckside Efficiency and Buena Vista Suite, breakfast can be enjoyed around the adult's only pool surrounded by an assortment of exotic palms, flowering heliconia and vines and decorative grasses. Enjoy an assortment of bagels, english muffins, cereals, fruits, jellies/jams, cream cheeses, yoghurts, orange juice, coffee and teas. For the guest who likes to sleep in, breakfast is offered from 8:30 until noon, daily.

Families and pets are welcomed! As you enter the office,
you will be greated by Daphne, the Jack Russell who loves
to play, Sasha, the gold Cocker Spaniel who is very shy,
Sir Julius, the Italian Greyhound who is exquisitely handsome
or Holly, our geriatric old girl of undetermined breed. Jack Russell
Daphne will come and swim and surf with you in the pool, just
come in the office and request the pleasure of her company.....
bring one of her many toys and she will entertain you all day!
Many of our guests have sent us photos of her in the pool,
hamming it up for the cameras!

Wedding Couple Weddings and Honeymoons
We perform personalized and unique weddings anywhere on the island! We have performed ceremonies in the water, on boats, at the top of the Lighthouse, at Mallory Square, at the Casa Marina on the beach, at Ft. Zachary Taylor State Park, at the Audubon House, at Martello Towers, etc. Our fish and lily pond with the handpainted setting sun island mural and the magnificent stand of palms creates a wonderful backdrop for photos if you opt for a simpler ceremony at Center Court.

We also provide photography and can assist with making arrangements for video, flowers, music, caterers, reception, etc.
