Victorian Jewel Bed & Breakfast

The Victorian Jewel is a 3 story Victorian home circa 1886 and is one of 198 structures in the Town of Historic Milton within the Federal Historic District. It has been restored back to its Victorian beauty with pine floors, floral wallpaper throughout, Victorian hanging lights, pocket doors, a chestnut staircase and very large pine doors with flower rosettes adorn the second floor. We also have a Steinway piano in one of our parlors for your pleasure. The front of the home has a porch facing 2 sides with wicker furniture to relax and enjoy the sunset. To the rear of the home, we have a screened Victorian Gazebo where you can enjoy our Victorian garden and pond. Breakfast can also be served in the Gazebo.

Location
Only 10 minutes from the ocean beaches, state parks and tax free outlet stores. After a busy day of shopping or visiting the beach, return back to a peaceful home away from home and enjoy life as it once was in a small town. Milton streets are lined with many Victorian and Federal style homes. A fishing pier and boat launch are within one block from the Jewel with access to the Broadkill River or Wagamon's Pond for fresh water fishing. Take the Governor's Walk along the Broadkill River or enjoy canoeing or a nice stroll to our hometown ice cream shop. Antique shops and craft shops are within walking distance.

Accommodations
The Governor's Room seems appropriate for our largest bedroom considering 5 men from Milton went on to hold the office of Governor. The room features a massive walnut and burl Renaissance revival bed circa 1870 and a marble dresser. This room also has bay windows, a restored walnut framed sofa circa 1840, private bath with shower and a walnut teardrop dresser made into a sink vanity with large mirror.
The Shipbuilder's Room is named in honor of the shipbuilding ear in Milton. This room has a golden oak highback bed circa 1885 with matching applied carvings on the headboard and footboard. The room also has a marble dresser and a restored oak framed settee, private bath and shower with old-fashioned pedestal sink.
The Smallest Wonder Room is named because many people consider Milton as Delaware's Smallest Wonder. The room has an oak bed circa 1898 with a marble top dresser and its own separate large private bath with a whirlpool tub and shower. An oak dresser made into a sink vanity and a large walnut framed mirror with converted gas lights adorn the bath. This room is very relaxing after a long busy day out and about.

The Victorian Jewel has been updated with central air conditioning for your comfort and has a monitored fire alarm system for your safety. Each bedroom has cable TV and a VCR. Bicycles and Beach Chairs are available to our guests at no charge.
