The Lord and Hamilton Seaside Inn stands on the original plot of land purchased by the Rev. R. W. Todd, founder of the Rehoboth Methodist Campground. The Lord and Hamilton Seaside Inn is in the midst of this modern resort community almost as a time warp. As described in Guide to America's Unique Lodgings and Best Bed & Breakfasts in the world, "This old Victorian house, located in the beach block, and just a few blocks from the center of town, has been renovated recently and still retains its 19th Century charm and atmosphere. It is flanked by porches on three sides."
The restoration is a combination of Victorian decor and English country comfort of lace curtains and chintz and furnished with family heirlooms and antiques. Each room has its own distinct personality although a rose motif is evident throughout the house. The bedrooms are tastefully and comfortably furnished, clean, cheerful and inviting with designer linens. All bedrooms now come with full private bathrooms.
Location
On Route 1 South turn left onto 1A (Rehoboth Avenue) and into Rehoboth Beach. On 1A take the last right turn before the Boardwalk onto First Street. Go three blocks, then left onto Brooklyn Avenue to #20, the Lord & Hamilton.
Accommodations
Room #1 (1st Floor) A lovely solid cherry, high canopy queen-size bed is the center of attraction. An antique armoire and two easy chairs, a private entrance and full private bathroom make this spacious room one of our most charming.
Room #2 (2nd floor) A king-size bed in a room flooded with light from five windows on three sides, coupled with a view of the ocean and a private bath, make this room a favorite!
Room #3 (2nd floor) This cozy room with a stately pine canopy double bed has an attached bathroom.
Room #4 (2nd Floor) This bright, sunny room with a double canopy bed includes a conversation area with an old-fashioned rocker. A full private bath adds to this room's charm.
Room #5 (3rd floor) A king-size bed, windows on three sides, and two views of the ocean add to the special appeal of this room. A full private bath is included in this lovely ocean view room.
Room #6 (3rd floor) This two room suite, in pastel shades and period wallpaper, has a cozy conversation area with an ocean view. Two double beds and a private bath make this a charming, intimate suite.
Room #7 (1st floor) A private entrance off the porch welcomes you to our newest addition, featuring a queen-size mahogany bed and antique appointments. A full private bath is included in this charming and convenient room.
