This elegantly restored 1870 Victorian home nestled in the middle of the famous Chapel West District, offers her guests the ease of leisurely strolls to Museums, Theaters, and Restaurants from linen and fine dining to the cheap and cheerful, satisfying palates in Traditional American, French, Italian, Thai to Caribbean and Soul Food cuisine's, naming but a few. Located one block from the Gothic academic community of Yale University and only an hour to the excitement, sights and sounds of the Foxwood and Mohegan Sun Casinos.

This lovely "Painted Lady" with a past is dressed in antiques, collectibles, and American Reproduction furnishings throughout - her rich oak millwork dates to New Haven's glory days and historic era of the Tall Ships. Our "Lady" invites her guests to settle into her "Library~Parlour" for cozy conversation or just a quiet read beside one of her two original fireplaces. Here you'll find afternoon tea, seasonal beverages and sweets. Before venturing out for an evening on the town, enjoy a bit of cheese and biscuits with Chef's selection of Inn wine. Returning later that evening, perhaps a touch of Sherry or Port, all compliments of the "Lady". If you desire something a bit stronger, the "Lady" offers her guests a selection from the Inn's Honor Bar.

Should those mid-night munchies set in, visit the Guest Pantry … bottle waters, soft drinks, juices, a handsome selection of both domestic and imported beers and snacks or sweets to go along with … and yes, there is even a selection of health bars.

The Inn's break-feast knows no equal. Award winning Executive Chef~Innkeeper, Michael A. Marra and Inn Staff brew New England's micro-roast Black Bear blends and select teas to accompany freshly squeezed citrus or the regional favorite Cranberry juice. Toasted grains, Inn-baked muffins, scones and savories assail your senses. Chef Marra's hearty morning entrée choice is always accompanied by fresh seasonal fruits, jams, tapped Maple syrup and a breakfast meat. For those who may have dietary needs, restrictions or religious practices to be honored, Chef Marra will be more than happy to accommodate.

Please note, it is greatly appreciated by all to be advised prior to the breakfast hour of any special requirements.

A recent addition by the "Lady" has been her Mini Exercise Facility. You might have the need to exercise your fingers on the keyboard of her Guest Computer and Workstation, or, if it's a brisk walk you're after and the weather is not quite to the liking … a warm-up mat and Pro-Form treadmills might get you where you want to go. To ease the pain, a little workout music or MSNBC should do the trick.
