We invite you to step back in time and enjoy the splendor of yesteryear in this magnificent National Historic Register Bed and Breakfast Inn in the heart of the historic and shopping districts, off charming New England village of Old Saybrook, Connecticut.

Built in 1746 by Deacon Timothy Pratt, this charming home boasts many fine original details including wide-board floors and hand hewn beams, wainscoting, a corner cupboard, a beehive oven, and seven working fireplaces.

Location
Located in the heart of the historic district on wide gas-lit Main Street, the B&B is a short walk to the water quaint shops, restaurants, cafes, coffeehouses with entertainment, churches, and town green activities. It is next door to old-fashioned ice-cream parlor, gift shop, art gallery; across the street from old house museum and pillared white church. This is a beautiful area for walking, bicycling, antiquing, and scenic drives along the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound. It is just one mile to beaches and Connecticut river and Long Island Sound cruises. Beach passes, maps and advice is provided.

Bordered on 2 sides by the CT River & Long Island Sound, Old Saybrook embodies the spirit of a small, charming New England town with a rich seafaring tradition. There is a popular bicycle loop in Old Saybrook which takes you along 10 miles of beautiful coastline and historic homes. There are two public boat launches; 1 is 1/2 mile from B&B and affords great canoe/kayak routes/scenery.

Picturesque Main street is the only gas-lit Main street in CT. Main Street has a brick median w/ gas lights, flowers, brick sidewalks, quaint shops, cafe's, coffeehouses w/entertainment, town green activities. Saybrook Point Park at the mouth of the CT River (1 mile from B&B) affords many things to do as well, including mini golf, an art gallery of local art, a historic walking park, and CT River & Long Island Sound cruises. Waterfront dining. Katherine Hepburn has made Old Saybrook her home. For the antiquer, there are 400 antique dealers in a 4 mile stretch in Old Saybrook! There is also the General William Hart House Museum (across the street) and numerous art galleries, boat launches, beaches to walk, 2 lighthouses to explore, wineries, bicycle rentals, the Clinton Westbrook Factory Outlet Malls, Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun casinos, Gillete Castle State Park, Essex Steam Train and Riverboat, horse and carriage sleigh rides, camelot cruises, murder mystery dinner cruises, mystic village, seaport and aquarium and many charming New England villages to explore!
In the winter there is the Winter Festival, Saybrook Stroll, Torchlight Parade, and beautifully decorated Main Street and Historic districts. In the summer there is the Old Saybrook Arts & Crafts Festival and Taste of Saybrook. In the fall there is the Harvest Festival and beautiful fall foliage.

The spacious guest rooms are romantically furnished in period style. All guestrooms feature four poster and canopy beds, working fireplaces, jacuzzi whirlpool tubs, stereo/CD players, phone/modem lines and private baths.

A guest refrigerator and spring water is always available in our DR as well.

A formal, candlelit breakfast is served in the elegant dining room with fireplace and corner cupboard on fine china, silver. Guest refrigerator and complimentary spring water, port wine, cookies, teas, hot chocolate always available.

Children: Children over 10 welcome Sunday through Thursday nights only, cot is provided if needed at $25/nt.

Rates: weekdays (Sunday -Thursday $100-$130) weekends: $170-$220. 2 nt min w/ Saturday night, 3 nights min holiday weekends.
